Remedy (A story of Aligare)

Remedy - Heidi C. Vlach Total utter surprise. A delightful book that started slow and then just pulled me in.
Adorable. I want there to be more.

14

14 - Peter Clines I loved this. It didn't go where I was expecting it to and the audio version gets five stars for the narration. I'll have to think about how to expand this review without giving anything away. :)

Bridge of Dreams (Ephemera)

Bridge of Dreams - Anne Bishop Need to back up to read the first two now!

Silverlock

Silverlock - John Myers Myers I get why people like this book but I might have liked it better if I had first read it when I was younger. It still gets 3 stars because of the awesome range of fiction/literature it draws from. It only gets 3 stars because I couldn't stand the protagonist.

A Confusion of Princes

A Confusion of Princes - Garth Nix Meh. Least favorite Nix book with the exception of "Ragwitch" so far. It was ok. But I'm accustomed to much more than ok from Nix. Ah well. Can't love 'em all.

Engraved on the Eye

Engraved on the Eye - Saladin Ahmed

S.A. has definitely become an author on my "purchase immediately when anything new comes out" list.

The Dex-Files (Experiment in Terror, #5.7)

The Dex-Files - Karina Halle Definitely not up to the rest of the series.

The Apocalypse Codex (Laundry Files, #4)

The Apocalypse Codex (Laundry Files, #4) - Charles Stross Another fine addition to "The Laundry Files". I just adore this series and the audiobook versions are great.

Valley Of Death, Zombie Trailer Park

Valley Of Death, Zombie Trailer Park - William Bebb How can one not like a book called "Valley of Death, Zombie Trailerpark"?

Apocalypse Cult (Gray Spear Society, #1)

Apocalypse Cult (Gray Spear Society, #1) - Alex Siegel Started out well but despite some good action scenes, I just couldn't like a single one of the characters. Definitely will not be reading the rest of the series even if it is free.

The Violinist's Thumb: And Other Lost Tales of Love, War, and Genius, as Written by Our Genetic Code

The Violinist's Thumb: And Other Lost Tales of Love, War, and Genius, as Written by Our Genetic Code - Sam Kean

Great book from the author of "The Disappearing Spoon" (one of my all time favorite nonfiction books).

The Phoenix Prince (Royal Blood)

Kōkū Uchū Kōgaku Nyūmon - Yoshisada Murotsu Definitely would have benefited from another draft or two with a good editor. It's a decent story but it needed someone to weed out the old tropes like "emerald eyes" and whatnot.

Carousel Tides

Carousel Tides - Sharon Lee I've had this for awhile. I'm very sorry I waited so long to read it. I loved it.

Update 5/13: Excellent audio version. The narrator does great downeaster Maine accents. I wish there could be more but the story wraps up so nicely. If we're lucky the author will set some other stories in this version of the world.

Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal

Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal - Mary Roach Another winner from Mary Roach.

Let's Pretend This Never Happened: (A Mostly True Memoir)

Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir - Jenny Lawson Listened again and still think it's freakin' hilarious/awesome.
